After a short break, I met for a second hour with my regular Tutee. We began by discussing a good strategy for taking the IELTS reading comprehension. I pulled up a practice problem. She began by quickly skimming the questions. She next skimmed the first sentence of each paragraph of the essay. She was about 2 minutes into the 20 minute problem. Then she read the problem essay more carefully and answered the questions with about 70% accuracy. We repeated the exercise on another problems after discussing some vocabulary.
