'Fill in the Blank'

  The final component of this tutoring session was the fill in the blank portion.  I provided him with another reading passage where there were blanks.  I also gave him a word bank of possible words he could use to fill in these blanks.  I asked him to read the passage out loud and then to himself so he could gain a better understanding of the passage.  Then he used the word bank I gave him to fill in the blanks.  He only got a few wrong, but I made sure to go back into the reading passage with him and have him try again.  I did not simply just give him the answer, rather I asked him to read out loud each individual sentence using each word in the word bank and asked him which sounded more appropriate.  Once he read things out loud, he was more confident in his answers.  I did not provide him with homework.
