Mengmeng and I met Friday, 2/7, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
We focused primarily on speaking skills, and also briefly practiced reading and writing skills. First, as a continuation of an activity from our previous session, Mengmeng answered questions from a fun conversation prompt list for ESL students I found online. We discussed a number of aspects about Mengmeng's life in China, ranging from her relationship with her parents, her friends, the types of clothes she likes to wear, her favorite foods, her childhood pets, and her experiences in the school system.
To wrap up the lesson, we spent the last twenty minutes playing Hangman, the classic paper-and-pencil word game. Mengmeng greatly enjoyed coming up with tricky words that left me stumped for an answer, and I had to promise her we'd play the game again in the future!
