'Reading Comprehension'

  The second thing we covered was reading and comprehension.  Again, I provided him with a worksheet, but this time it was a reading passage and follow up discussion questions.  I asked him to read the passage out loud and I made sure to correct any pronunciation errors.  I also asked him to highlight or underline any words he did not know the meaning to, so that we could go over them when he was finished reading.  He did a great job reading the passage.  He only had minor errors.  We went over the 5 words that he didn't know the meaning of and I gave him example sentences and tried to relate the words to real life.  Next, I asked him to answer 5 of the discussion questions and to use a highlighter to show evidence to back up his answers.  He only missed 1 question and we went back and looked and found that a different answer was better.
