Tutoring Session #2

Maria was excited to meet today and we met at the Art Park at Railroad Square. We had hoped to meet at the coffee shop, but it was so crowded, we could not find a table. We found a picnic table outside and were able to begin her assessment. Engaged Maria in diagnostics in writing as this is an area that Maria identified as a challenge for her. Maria is Level 3 student at CIES. The writing assessment was to write about her dog and tell a funny story about their time together. Marie was able to write a story that addressed the topic with progression and coherence. Her verb tenses, use of prepositions, and word order were sometimes mixed up. Overall, she conveyed her meaning and I could see that she loves her dog and misses her dog Nana very much.
