Renata and I met on February 21, 2020 at CIES to go over her final essay she had finished. Although her essay was already finished she wanted to correct any mistakes and go over pronunciation of words so she could use it as English practice. The essay was fantastic for the most part with me nitpicking her use of articles, some minor spelling mistakes, and sentence structure. We took out some redundant sentences and fused some other to shorten it a bit and make it more concise. I believe the most valuable ting we went over during this session was pronunciation which Renata has the most issues with. Renata has issues with some word sounds, especially ones that end with -ed. This is something we have been going over and she has gotten a lot better! We have mainly been going over this by having her read and when I hear a mistake we go over it together very slowly and the pick up speed to saying the word how you would actually say it. Once she gets it down we record her saying it a few times, then me saying it a few times. This allows her to review the word later on her own time and has been helping immensely.
