Charmel TS#2

January 26, 2020

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

On this day, I met with Kubra at the sweet shop. We decided to focus on vocabulary for this session. We went through an IELTS vocabulary textbook and choose a chapter with words she didn't know. The two main words we focused on for this session were attribute and contribute. It was a bit hard to explain the definition of these words because I naturally new the context in which I could use both. We began by looking up the raw definition of the words online, then I gave Kubra examples of how to use it. For example, I said "the employee attributed the success of the company to his boss," and " He contributed a lot of time to the group project." Once she felt she understood the meaning, I had her come up with sentences with these words. It was a bit rocky at first, but she did end up making two great sentences which were " He contributed $1,000 dollars to the charity," and " He attributed his success to his family."
