This Tuesday, I met with my tutee Yunjia. She had a writing assignment with a poor letter grade and wanted to basically sit down and go through all the ways she could have improved it. We mainly went over the teachers corrections and I explained why it needed to be corrected and what word or grammar note she could have put instead. I then told her about some strong academic words that she could have replaced with others to make the essay better. When finished we read through it once more and I made sure she better understood the corrections.
