This Thursday, I started tutoring my conversation partner Yunjia. We started out by going over some of the problems she is having with learning English. She reads and understands very well, however speaking and writing are difficult for her. We spent this session going over an essay prompt and a previous essay that she wrote. The essay prompt was about whether she would buy a house or business if she had the money. She made a chart and listed the pros and points of buying the house. I then helped her edit a previous essay that she wrote for her writing class. I tried to lead her into finding what she needed to fix instead of telling her. We ended our session by agreeing to continue next week. She will also try to edit her paper before we see each other again.
