Christopher TS #8
We were back like we never left for our eighth session together on this here third day of February. We started the day talking about his father, who recently had a surgery. Then we spoke about school life and I truly could not believe the amount of intense schooling he was describing. Students, because of the competitive nature of the culture and job market, go to school all day. They go to regular school for above eight hours, and afterwards go to a private institute to continue schooling until late at night. I could not believe he numbers he was telling me. He gave me a ball park of 8am-11pm! I asked him if this type of rigor creates mental health issues and if there seemed to be a problem of the sort in South Korea. He said that there was and that he thinks it's time for a change. I would agree, that is a whole lot of work to do for a young kid.
