Anthony CP #2
Last week, I met with Abdulaziz at CIES for our second conversation meeting. We couldn't decide on where what we should do, so eventually I suggested I could show him around Tallahassee, since he is unfamiliar with the surrounding area. I showed him the area known as Midtown off of Monroe street, and I drove him around Lake Ella. It was a dreary day, so the city could've looked a bit nicer, but he enjoyed me taking him to the many parts of town. After Midtown, I drove Abdulaziz through Collegetown. He really enjoyed all the artistic appreciation in the bars and restaurants, and I told him there are a multitude of food options in this part of Tallahassee. We drove through railroad square, visited a video game shop (he was very interested in this place), and then I took him home. We talked about all sorts of differences between Tallahassee and Jazan during the ride: the topography, the varying plant and animal species, and therefore our different experiences growing up. It was a very enlightening experience, and helped us build a connection.
