Tutoring Session #1

I met with my tutee, Maria for the 1st time. We reviewed questions from the Needs Assessment Questionnaire. Maria is from Madrid Spain. Her first language is Spanish. She has briefly studied French. Maria has just recently completed high school. Maria has lived in Tallahassee since August 2019. She enjoys going to the gym and going to San Luis Park. Maria is interested in studying International Relations. Maria is the youngest of 4 children, with 3 older brothers. Maria enjoys grammar and study of verb tenses. Maria reports difficulty with composition and translating. Maria's goals include having clearer conversations, dreaming in English, passing the TOELF, and being fluent in English. Maria states that she speaks in English to everyone except when she talks to her parents on the phone.
