Mengmeng and I met Friday, 1/31 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We primarily practiced speaking, listening, and vocabulary skills.
First, we continued where we'd left off from our last session by going over common interview questions. I explained new vocabulary terms as they came up and encouraged Mengmeng to answer each question as comprehensively as possible, with an emphasis on the content of her message, not the accuracy of her grammar. Later, we watched more "Exciting English" clips (a fun online resource that uses snippets from popular American films to teach second-language learners), and covered the new vocabulary introduced in each video.
