This Friday, I met with my tutee Kubra. We first went over her writing and pronunciation skills through an essay she wrote the day prior. For the second part of out session we worked on personal statements and the interview process for her IELTS exam. Kubra informed me that she needed to write a personal statement for the graduate program she is applying for. Therefore, I had her read mine (which got approved by the career center) to help illustrate what the grad school usually expects. We finished off our session by conducting the speaking portion of her IELTS interview. I asked her questions based off the IELTS textbook and replicated the time she would have to answer each. I corrected her speech as we were going through the first time, but made notes and corrected her speech after the interview for the second time.
