Tutoring Session #3

We continued our tutoring session at the Art Park at Railroad Square. Maria was able to complete the grammar quizzes online with small errors. Maria was open to discussing the errors on the quizzes and was able to self correct with assistance. I used the website a4esl.org Level 4 quizzes for present perfect or past tense, assorted questions, prepositions, error correction. Maria scored 80-100% accuracy on all the quizzes. For the last 10 minutes, we went to the thrift shop and talked about the various items in the store and I was able to observe Maria making a purchase. This was helpful in assessing Maria's speaking. Maria is able to carry on conversations and communicate effectively in simple conversation. She often mixes up pronouns and verb tenses. She is open to correction. We talked about what she likes and what she misses about Spain.
