Today I met with my conversation partner Yunjia. We had a very funny conversation about American idioms and sayings. We talked about different meanings and what it means to be sarcastic. For instance, we talked about the meaning of the phrase "don't sweat it" and how the word minute could stand for a short or long amount of time, depending on context. For example, someone could say "I will be there in a minute", which means soon, or someone could say "I haven't seen you in a minute!," which means a very long time. She taught me saying  like this in Chinese as well. The funniest part of our conversation was when I tried to teach her  a tongue twister. The one we went over was "how much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood" we spent some time trying to repeat it faster and faster and agreed that by our next meeting she would be a pro. It was nice to see the similarities and differences in our speech and how difficult it can be to pronounce certain phrases in each others languages.
