Christopher TS#10
Do Jun and I spoke on the morning of February tenth. We had a conversation covering several different topics. First of all, he informed me about how his father is doing. He had to go back home to Busan to help take care of him during the weekend. After that, and I'm not sure how but am also not surprised, we ended up talking about food. I wanted to know how what the eating culture was like. He was telling me that going out to eat can be 30-50 dollars per person! That made sense to me since I knew Seoul is one of the most expensive cities in the world; but it was still quite shocking to hear. I asked him if there is cheap food to be bought and he told me that there were tons of cheap options out there and not to worry. He said that typical, mom and pop Korean restaurants tend to be cheaper. He said that this made him a little sad because he believed that the food was better and more labour intensive to make than the big, expensive chain restaurants. We talked a little bit about our past work experience and we were able to relate on how bad it is to be a waiter, no matter where.
