Renata and I met on 2/8/20 at Starbucks to go over the subject of passive voice. Although Renata has learned passive voice before, she wanted go freshen up on the topic and had some questions about it. I created a worksheet before i met Renata, going over several different examples of using the passive voice. The biggest issue with writing in the passive voice is the different sentence structure associated with it. In these types of sentences the object receiving the action becomes the subject. Once Renata got this element down it was pretty smooth sailing. Once we completed the worksheet, we went over some pronunciations of different words, especially large ones like technology and more tricky ones like cashew. Before wrapping up the session Renata and I planned to dig deeper into more examples of the passive voice and how she might use them in speech and writing. Next time we will go over conditional sentences!
