Christopher CP #3

It has been difficult to find time to hang with Abdulrahim, but I have been trying hard to socialize with people from CIES and develop friendships with them. One such instance was when Miguel, a very friendly guy studying in the program, invited me to go to dinner with him and some friends. I agreed and he, Soojin, Dakhil, Yahya, and I went out to dinner. We went to have arepas, a very popular Venezuelan dish. It was nice to hang out just as friends and not have to worry about correcting their English. We talked about the food, if we had anything similar in our cultures, and played the piano that they had there in the restaurant! All in all it was a great time and I was glad I got invited to tag along.
