I observed Dr. Pollack's Composition Class. Dr. Pollack greeted the class and let them know the agenda for the class. The agenda included a time writing drill and a timed writing quiz. I sensed some tension and anxiety in the room. The teacher was encouraging, supportive, and had clear structure for the class. Dr Pollack started the timer on the overhead and kept the students aware of how much time was remaining. The teacher walked around the room some during the writing drill and answered student's questions as they raised their hands. At the end of the quiz, Dr. Pollack let the class know what they would be doing tomorrow.
