Anthony TS#8

Ahmed and I met in Strozier library for a quick dictation exercise. I created ten sentences that used several vocabulary words that we had discussed over the past eight tutoring sessions. I read the sentences at a slow pace and several times, allowing Ahmed to hear them several times and to write them completely. This took about twenty or twenty five minutes, and then after this, I provided detailed feedback on all of Ahmed's sentences. Ahmed has very good listening skills, but his writing (and more importantly spelling) are still in need of some practice. In addition, his grammar in writing lacks along side his overall writing skills. I first went through and corrected any major mistakes on his listening comprehension, and then I corrected all of his spelling and grammar mistakes. During this time, Ahmed and I often have discussions on spelling patterns in English, and I continue to reinforce those skills so he can receive reinforcement in that area.
