Tuesday 11:00-11:50- Reading class with Professor Felicia
Today was a quiz day for the advanced reading students in Professor Felicia's class and as they came into the computer lab many of them immediately began the task quietly. Since it was a silent work day, the professor let me look at the chapter from the book as well as the quiz they were taking. They were learning about research and it's moving parts, as well as how to conceptualize it as the accumulation of knowledge. Important terms such as synthesis and guidelines were highlighted and as crucial elements to be expanded upon. There were graphs and visual explanations of the material. The chapter was about thirty pages and the students were given the weekend to read and prepare for the quiz, all multiple choice with some true or false statements. It wasn't timed, and the environment was casual and the students and teacher had good humor void of tension. Everyone seemed comfortable in the space and they asked questions and joked with the teacher.
