Michael CO #2

Composition 2B
Felicia Ciappetta
Tuesday @ 9:00-9:50 A.M

The class began with Ms. Felicia Ciappetta asking the students to name three things or topics that can be compared between Tallahassee and their hometowns. They then went onto writing about some of the similarities and differences between Tallahassee and their hometowns based on the first topic that they said could be compared. Ms. Ciappetta helped with pronunciation and concepts while they wrote their ideas in this part of the class. The class was given about 5 minutes to write and then Ms. Ciappetta wrote down and explained her own similarities and differences based on her first topic as an example. This process was repeated two more times for the rest of the topics on their list and the students seemed to be getting a hang of writing through comparison. Ms. Felicia made sure to ask the students what they were doing, which was brainstorming, before moving on to creating an outline based on their ideas written. The professor first gave an example of her own thesis statement and the students followed. Any questions were answered about the thesis statements after students were given time to write, and then topic sentences were developed and written. Throughout this process there were examples given before students wrote and checks for comprehension were given after. The students were released and will continue the development of their outlines for composition next class!
